Is Physical Exfoliation Bad For Your Skin?
There’s a lot of buzz around physical exfoliation, but rest-assured, it is a safe and effective way to exfoliate your skin when done correctly!
Tell Me MoreWe’re superfans of everything nature. It’s why our products contain ingredients like fuzzy apricots, milky coconuts, zingy cranberries, and creamy shea butter. In addition, we use the 100% naturally sourced exfoliant crushed walnut shell powder, in many of our face scrubs. 100% naturally sourced moisturizers, like soybean oil and plant based glycerin, go into our our body lotions, and 100% naturally sourced extracts, like orchid, into our body washes. St. Ives is here to revitalize your skin, so give your skin what it craves. It’s glow time.
We are inspired by nature’s most delicious and nurturing elements. Because of that, we work to source nothing but great ingredients. But where does the good stuff come from? All over the world really. Let’s take a look at the journey our ingredients take from nature to glow.
We adore these fuzzy fruits. Depending on the season, you’ll find us in either sunny California, or somewhere in North Africa, picking out the juiciest ones. It’s how we get the fragrant extracts and kernel oils we want for our scrubs and body washes.
Crushed walnut shell powder is the gentle-yet-effective secret behind many of our scrubs. After harvesting the walnuts in California, we carefully mill them to just the right size for a deep but thorough exfoliation.
We’re not shy about shea.
Shea butter comes from nut grown on the shea tree which is indigenous to Africa. The butter is extracted and refined to ensure nothing is lost.
Slosh! Coconut milk is irresistible. Our extract comes from coconuts harvested from tall Caribbean palm trees. The nut is cracked open and the milk is extracted from the flesh by a gentle water-soaking process. No harsh chemicals! Just the good stuff.
Sourcing great ingredients is our passion to bring you the #DeliciousNature you deserve.
Now that you know where our ingredients come from, you’re probably wondering- what do they do? We know you love our signature Apricot Scrub, so we thought we’d start with that. Like many of our face scrubs, it is made with the 100% natural exfoliant walnut shell powder and extracts such as apricot extract and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. For our Green Tea Face Scrub, we use extracts of green tea leaves and a naturally sourced exfoliant that gives you a moderate exfoliation level.
Like our scrubs, our lotions are full of amazing ingredients that do all sorts of things for your skin. Our body lotions are all made with 100% naturally sourced moisturizers, like pure soybean oil, which is known to help nourish dry skin. We also love to use naturally-sourced proteins such as Collagen and Elastin proteins and coconuts. Your skin will love you, you can thank us later!
Wash up with ingredients that your body deserves. Reserved for the most relaxing time of the day, our body washes are made with 100% naturally sourced extracts. Our Exfoliating Body Wash Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange is made with lemon peel and citrus extracts and exfoliates for radiant skin. Dive in with rose and aloe vera extracts in our Refreshing Body Wash Rose Water & Aloe Vera which refreshes for a balanced feel.
We travel the world to bring you wholesome, naturally-sourced ingredients that feed and nourish your skin. Now it’s time to wake up your skin and glow with St. Ives.

Tell Me MoreFact: Working out is a great way to burn off stress and boost your mood. That’s because exercise has been shown to lower cortisol levels (aka the body’s stress hormone) and release endorphins (the body’s happy hormone). And when you do it in a park, the woods, a beach or any natured-filled space, you get the added benefits of nature!
Tell Me MoreExfoliation is the removal of dead and the oldest skin cells from the topmost layer of skin and can be accomplished via face scrubs, facials or peels. Now, how often should you exfoliate your face? Skin should be exfoliated on a consistent and regular basis as dead skin can get trapped on the surface and cause clogged pores, rough skin texture, dullness, and breakouts!
Tell Me MoreIt’s no secret that washing your face has been a no-brainer since rubber duckies were a part of bath time. It’s also safe to say that your morning and nighttime cleansing routines have changed a bit (ok, a lot) since then. So, you’ll want to make sure you know the right way. Let’s review.
